Sunsets are Sunsets

Moses Isegawa

Moses Isegawa was born in Uganda, in 1963. In 1990 he left Uganda for Holland to pursue his dream to become a writer. In 1998 he published the highly acclaimed Abyssinian Chronicles, a novel about Uganda.

I took these pictures at his book signing at the Galle Literary Festival. Every time he could not pronounce or spell a Sri Lankan name he would write it on his palm.

He was very funny and charismatic.

Thomas Keneally

I took this picture when i was working for the Galle literary festival. I had the pleasure of meeting him and he is one of the nicest people you could have a conversation with. Thomas Keneally is a multiple award-winning novelist. He won the Booker Prize for his novel Schindler's Ark, perhaps his most famous novel. This was later adapted for the film by Steven Spielberg, Schindler's List, which is an Oscar winning film.

You can find more Galle Literary Festival pictures by me and Yanik Tissera and Alefiya Akbarally here...
